Job Title:  Principal Piping Designer
 
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
 
CB&I is seeking a Principal Piping Designer for one of our Houston offices. The Principal Piping Designer will be responsible for the following:
 
  • Plot Plan Development - has had the responsibility of developing Multi-unit complexes with knowledge of the impact of Vapor Dispersion, Thermal Radiation, Noise control, Fire Protection and Government and Local regulations. Is totally familiar with the latest standards and codes. Focuses on "Total Installed Cost" incorporating Construction execution and concepts, modular designs and maintenance and operational requirements. Is able to plan and incorporate all Underground requirements.
  • Plant Layout capabilities - is able to produce complex layouts that incorporates safety, maintainability, operability and constructability at the lowest TIC. Needs to be completely familiar with the layout and functionality of all equipment and in-line items. This includes Vessel Internals and Nozzle orientations. Has a sound understanding of all Process and Analytical requirements. Is able to incorporate Instrument, Electrical, Civil/Structural, Piping flexibility and Pipe supports into a well developed layout.
  • Detailed Engineering and Design - has a sound knowledge of all piping materials and specifications.
  • Can develop and incorporate all standard piping designs.
Desired/Preferred Qualifications:
 
Qualified candidates will possess at least 5 years of experience with Intergraph’s PDS, and 25 years of Piping Design experience with 5 to 10 years of Petrochemical experience. Candidates should have experience with Plot plan development and Plant Layout as well as conducting Client and Internal Design Reviews.
 
Candidates with 5 to 10 years Refinery experience in units such as Crude, Vacuum, Delayed Coking, Hydrotreating, Sulfur Recovery, Sour Water Stripping, Amine Recovery and Utilities and Tankage, Gas Technology, LNG Liquefaction, and/or, LNG Receiving Terminal experience are highly preferred.
